Sorry there have been no civilian postings up til now. I have had a busy and interesting year getting a son married off, having one go into the army and getting surgury, radiation and chemo for color/rectal cancer. Not complainin, just explainin. Our ladies have been busy making sthingy bonnets and new dresses. Some new civilians have just finished their first dresses and are excited to show them off. Its fun to watch twirl and smile when they try them on for the first time. We churned butter for the first time at Holly. It was fun but, we made more than needed as usual. We had homemade butter for enough for two families for all of May.
Our next project will be knitting aprons. No we will not knit an apron. Knitting aprons are fancy white cotton aprons with a deep ruffled pocket that extends across the entire bottom of the apron to hold knitting yarn and accessories while visiting. It will be nice not to chase a ball of wool through the grass and then have to pick the weeds out.
